Modern Society welcomes award-winning London artist Hollie Fernando to its roster. With an unparalleled portfolio centred around ethereal beauty, Fernando’s film photography has a rich painterly quality, centred around natural landscapes.

Aesthetically, Fernando’s personal work pairs captivating backdrops with youthful figures, conjuring a dreamlike setting. “I use old paintings as my colour palette templates...I’m meticulous with my colours and use certain films for certain situations for the colours they produce."

Fernando’s mission statement is to create imagery that is part of a bigger story, allowing her audience to engage and think twice. With a relaxed approach to shooting, each photograph captures the magic of real life moments.
It's no wonder Fernando's professional collaborations span across top UK music labels to world renowned independent magazines, including Crack, i-D and Suitcase to name a few.

Having celebrated her first solo exhibition at Doomed Gallery in Dalston during summer 2018, Fernando is set to exhibit a series of eight original works at Modern Society, centred around the theme of travel. In limited editions runs, her work will be available to purchase at 33 Redchurch Street from October 2018 to the new year.
